Ceiling Clouds

Ceiling clouds have existed for decades, but have been too low in mass to be broad band reflectors, too costly, and too limited in shaping options and finish options. The Venue Technologies approach allows for high mass steel clouds to be manufactured in an extremely wide array of geometric shapes for a reasonable cost, with any color or degree of luster.

Clouds

Clouds Architects and acousticians have long realized the benefits of complexly shaped ceilings; control of early reflections, even distribution of sound, diffusion, and enhanced visual aesthetics.

The high cost of complex framing and plaster has made this goal unreachable for most projects.

The alternative, suspended reflectors, commonly called ceiling clouds, have been available in a limited number of off-the-shelf shapes, and too low in mass and rigidity to support low frequencies.

The Venue Technologies ceiling clouds can be produced in virtually any shape or size due to novel fabrication and assembly techniques. The basic material is steel to insure adequate mass and rigidity, and the powder coat finish can be virtually any color or luster. Stainless steel is also an option.

Venue Technologies can work with architects directly, to generate designs that meet criteria for both acoustical performance and visual aesthetics, or work with acoustical consultants to determine the most cost effective means of achieving shapes that they select.
