About Venue Technologies
Venue Technologies was created to address a variety of voids in the acoustical treatment and media fields. Some of these voids are the result of changing architectural trends, such as the excessive use of gypsum board, less complex shaping of spaces, and increasing problems with HVAC noise.
Ceiling clouds have existed for decades, but have been too low in mass to be broad band reflectors, too costly, and too limited in shaping options and finish options. The Venue Technologies approach allows for high mass steel clouds to be manufactured in an extremely wide array of geometric shapes for a reasonable cost, with any color or degree of luster.
Gypsum board has replaced masonry and real plaster for reasons of cost. The low mass and rigidity of gypsum board normally results in a noxious mid frequency peak in the reverberation time versus frequency curve. Ceilings using Venue Technologies mid frequency absorber units can substantially reduce this problem.
Catwalks have most often been cobbled together by local trades without regard to the requirements of lighting designers, and most importantly, the ability to conform with complex ceiling geometries. The Venue Technologies modular catwalk system was designed with input from major lighting designers, allows for complex shaping, is robust enough to support additional items such as sprinkler mains, loudspeaker systems, and steel ceiling clouds.
Many projects fail due to excess HVAC noise, most often low frequency, which is not attenuated sufficiently by low mass roof decks or ceilings. Venue Technologies offers a series of high mass 2x2 units, either diffusive or absorptive on the downward face, that provide substantial attenuation of low frequency noise from above.
Media floor boxes have suffered from any one or combination of problems including insufficient space for pass throughs, inability to accept large conduits, insufficient space to accommodate reasonable cable lengths behind receptacle panels, insufficient receptacle capacity, lids too weak to tolerate lifts, inability to be used in direct concrete pours, lids too visible for video, etc. The Venue Technologies floor box solves all of these problems with one design.
